What Facebook knows about you: 6 scary patents registered as Facebook!

Facebook spies on you and knows everything about you, and this, perhaps, is no longer a secret. However, the ways this does (or at least plans) are really scary.

New York Times columnist Suhail Shennawi was interested in how the world's largest social network Facebook monitored the mood and lives of its users. He analyzed hundreds of patent applications filed by the company in recent years, and chose six of them to prove: there is no longer any personal life and personal secrets online.

1. Forecasting the future

There is a Facebook patent called "Predicting Life Changes of Members of a Social Networking System". This patent can be described as permitting the use of your posts, comments and personal messages, as well as transactions and the physical location of your bank card in order to anticipate the events of your future life. For example, the death of a loved one, the birth of a child or, for example, the final exam in your studies, which will transform your destiny.

2. With whom and how you spend your time
We have talked in previous topics about how Facebook follows your friends and acquaintances even those who do not have a friendship within the social network. But the patent, titled "Statistics for continuous location tracking," greatly expands Facebook's tracking capabilities. This patent proposes to compare the actual location of the phone with the location of smartphones from your friends and acquaintances. If your mobile phone is next to you, you spend time with each other. It can also come to where you work, for example, or where you are used to dinner.

3. Where do you live and when do your habits change?
At night, your landline phone provides Facebook information about where you sleep. If you sleep in the same place every night, you can easily calculate the location of your home. Facebook will track all your smartphones, if you suddenly change your habits and go to sleep somewhere (for someone else). A patent application called "Routine deviation notification" implies that all your similar habits will also be monitored.

4. With whom are you in a romantic relationship?

Facebook's patent is called "Inferring relationship statuses of users of a social networking system". To calculate "everything is complicated", the social network analyzes a huge amount of information: for example, how many times you go to the pages of some users, whom you meet, where you spend your free time, how many friends of the opposite sex possess, etc.

Based on this, Facebook can unequivocally classify you as "married", "in a relationship" or "single."

5. Who are you as a person
Extrovert or introvert? Excited or emotionally stable? Lover of tea or coffee? A patent called "Determining user personality characteristics from social networking system communications and characteristics" gives the social network an opportunity to create your most accurate psychological picture.

6. What you see and hear
The automated patent "Correlating media consumption data with user profiles" describes how Facebook uses your phone's microphone. City? This information allows the social network to know what content is acceptable to you. Of course, this is more effective for your future manipulation.
