Mark Zuckerberg surprised everyone about Facebook e-currency Libra
For Zuckerberg's Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his new e-currency Libra, things seem to be getting complicated, to the extent that a final abandonment of the project may seem possible, Zuckerberg himself said.
Facebook has faced a wave of condemnation and rejection of its new electronic currency Libra since the announcement of the project a few months ago, where the project has been widely rejected by political and economic officials alike, and even the financial companies involved in the coalition for Libra as Paypal, Visa, MastrCard and others abandoned the project respectively.
Mark Zuckerberg appeared on October 23 before a US congressional committee to talk about the new project, the second time this year after he appeared before the Congressional Committee earlier this year against the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
Mark Zuckerberg, in his testimony before the Congressional Committee, noted that Libra is not a bank or an electronic currency, but an electronic payment system. He also noted that he knew perfectly well that this project had high risks, and asserted in return that his goal was to obtain permits, especially in the states. But the surprise was his assertion that he might abandon the whole project!
