This company turned old excavators and bulldozers into intelligent machines

By 2030, analysts estimate that the global construction industry will be worth $ 8 trillion, a growth driven by the United States, India and China. In the rush of buildings, there is certainly a shortage of skilled workers.

A 2018 survey of 2,700 contractors, construction managers, builders and commercial contractors showed that nine out of 10 had trouble finding skilled workers.

Build Robotics, a San Francisco-based company that has just raised $ 33 million in funding to bridge the gap by turning old excavators and bulldozers into intelligent machines and developing artificial intelligence routing systems to turn heavy equipment into independent robots. This technology combines sensors like GPS, cameras and cover with advanced software, and systems can be installed on standard devices from any manufacturer.

Of course, safety and accuracy are paramount in construction. Noah Ready-Campbell, founder and CEO of Build Robotics, confirms the company's website. In a video produced by TechCrunch, Build Robotics can automate machines for "more basic tasks on the job site, and they can use skilled workers for more precise tasks."
